Now we are ready to listen! In this chapter of the lesson: 

  1. you are going to listen to the song Snowflake by Sia and improve your audio skills (task 1-4)
  2. you will have to test the understanding of the song (task 5)
  3. finally, you will have to answer the questions based on the song (task 6)

Let’s start! Here is the audio:

Sia — Snowflake

Task 1.  Listen the first verse of the song (00:00 — 00:40). Put the lines in the correct order and check.

 

Task 2. Look at this word cloud! Do you know all of these words?

Listen to the second verse (00:41-01:15). Fill in the gaps with the words from the word cloud above and check your answers. 

 

It can be interesting! Let’s check the meaning of these words and phrases! 

 

Task 3. Listen to the chorus (01:15-01:02:15). Match the beginning of the line with its ending. Check your answers. 

 

Task 4. Listen to the end of the song (02:15-02:50). Mark the correct words in the lyrucs. 

 

Task 5. Now be ready to complete the test based on the song! At the end you will get a picture. 

 

Task 6. Choose one question and answer it in the audio. Talk no less than 1 minute. Use words from the song to support your answer. Share your ideas with the other students and discuss. 
1) Why do you think the speaker calls the snowflake “my sweet” and “the only one”?
2) How does the speaker feel about letting the snowflake go?
3) In your own words, explain what “I love you, I know you’re just here on loan” means in the song.
